Good news everyone! On July 18th, we closed on our SBA loan. While there are still some hurdles to getting the brewery open, we just jumped the big one. With the loan in place, we were able to order our brewhouse and cooperage. This effectively sets a six month countdown until we’re brewing in our building. More tangibly, we’ve broken ground at the brewery site! We’re expecting construction to last about four months. In the meantime, we’re also working on finalizing a brokerage license which will allow us to contract brew and get our suds in the market. Because we’re thirsty now and figured you were too, we’ve started a series of Southern Roots Sodas in collaboration with Richard Miley of Catch 22 and Josh Aaron of The Savory Spoon. Look for those refreshers to change with the seasons and our appetites. Hopefully Southern Roots Soda will keep y’all held over until we can get the real deal out to you.
