Tim Winters

SBC Racing Team Captain

Tim Winters is an amazing individual. We feel lucky to have known him as long as we have. We met Tim back in 1991 and have loved hanging out with him ever since. Tim is a craft beer connoisseur; as passionate about craft beer as we are. He takes that same passion and applies it to riding. Heck, we’d go so far as to say that Tim does everything with that same passion. He has a zeal for life that’s contagious.

Tim has been brewing with us for a while and it was during a brew day that he came up with the idea for an SBC sponsored bike team. We were glad to have him brewing and drinking beer with us but we were absolutely blown away that he wanted to assemble a team for us. Tim didn’t like jerseys that were light in color and looked dingy after the first wash. He wanted racing kit that would hold up to seasons worth of Georgia red clay. We put that into a design and came up with something that looked like it had already been dragged through the mud. Tim loved it and we went to production.

Honestly, we thought we were going to get four or five people to buy a jersey. We were just happy to give back Tim some of the sweat equity that he had already given us over the years. We ride an occasional trail but we hadn’t ever met the group of riders that Tim raced with and we somehow had forgotten about how incredible Tim is. As it turns out, Tim put together a group of kick-ass athletes. We should have realized this would be the case. The best part is that these riders love craft beer as much as we do! SBC Racing came out of the gate as an established team looking to win. We owe a lot to Tim Winters; he gave us the greatest team in the Southeast and we love watching them race all season long. Cheers to you Mr Winters!
